My learned cousin leader of the opposition. I’m somewhat discombobulated by your comment — In respect to Andros being designated as a free trade zone. If you check your history, on the late BJ Nottage, I concur with him and his most brilliant idea that the capital of the Bahamas should be moved to Andros.

Andros is 4sq miles bigger than Trinidad and Tobago and is the future of The Bahamas — it’s an ecological gem out of the entire world. Therefore, if the government of the Bahamas chose to implement a free trade zone, it would revolutionize the entire Bahamian archipelago. The most important thing my learned cousin, is that the government owns most of the land in Andros. So the paradigm shift for the country, does not pose a problem.

I want to take the time to salute the government for having the foresight to implement a free trade zone in Andros. The airport will be up to international standard, Andros doesn’t have a problem with water either. I would move to Andros and I suggest you consider it as well, Nassau is too congested.

Andros has the potential to feed the entire Caribbean, complimenting this country in ways that we’ve never seen before. Should we put the free trade zone in Cat Island? In the back of South beach? What is your suggestion, are you now an economist? I know you’re a learned lawyer. We need strategical solutions in this post coronavirus atmosphere. Show me your new post-corona economic plan. Can I look at it? Can I analyze it?

The Bahamas is in need of an economic paradigm shift, tourism isn’t going to cut it anymore. Making noise in the market place without understanding the price of fish in this global economy, that’s now in a double recession, my learned cousin, borders in absolute nonsense.

We must come together as Bahamians and not partisan Bahamians. I welcome this bold initiative. As you can recall when Sir Lynden opposed the Defense Force the opposition was utterly against it and now they compliment the defense force.

Bombastic and strategical thinking systems will bring about economic benefits beyond your imagination, in our vulnerable country my learned cousin. That’s my two cents.
